I was asked by a couple to take this toy box and give it a makeover. This was made around 1985 by his dad. This will be a birthday gift for their 3 yr old niece. They wanted something super special. They were very specific about adding photo's on the toy box. I pondered and I talked them into a photo board that she could take off down the road instead of applying the photo's directly on the toy box. I valued His dad's work and I wanted to keep the quality of his work and it was killing me to cover it up. They agreed so I was good to go! I sanded it down! I stained it dark walnut. I hand painted her name & scalloped designs. I thought "why not? Let's add some dots for fun!" I also applied outdoor sealer (sanding between coats) to prevent against spills. She is 3 yrs old so I can never be too careful! Right? I made this photo board to attach it to the front of the toy box. I did an acrylic overlay. I added keyholes so when they remove it from the toy box she can hang it up. I screwed it on the box from the inside. What a beautiful Keepsake Sofia has!Katie Patton
